An upgrade of the workpiece headstock drive on a Schaudt E450 grinder was carried out. The problem was related to belt slippage and lack of workpiece rotation drive during grinding.

Modernization of the workpiece headstock drive on the E450 SCHAUDT grinder

Starting the grinding machine after a long stoppage. Diagnosis of a problem relating to headstock forward/reverse feed (axle not responding to command from operator panel). In addition, oil leakage during transverse movement of the headstock was eliminated.

Start-up of the BEV 950 grinder

During the failure analysis of the grinder, a leak in the hydraulic distributor block was detected. The block was dismantled, replaced with a remanufactured one and reinstalled in the machine.

Renovation and replacement of the SPC 20 hydraulic distributor block

The grinder is additionally equipped with an optical ruler with an accuracy of 1 micrometre to improve the accuracy of the work performed. In addition, headstock vibration and impact docking have been eliminated.
